Pursuant to Sec. 1 of Ch. 45 of the Acts of 2020 and due to the state of emergency declared by the govenor pursuant to executive order 591, Declaration of a State of Emegency to Respond to COVID-19, the municipal town election scheduled for May 4, 2020 is hereby postponed. The new postponed date for the Annual Town Election is June 15, 2020 at the Old Murdock Senior Center located at 52 Murdock Avenue from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Being mindful of the Covid-19 outbreak, serious precautions will be taken to protect voters and volunteers. Plexiglas barriers will be affixed to act as a barrier between election workers and voters, and every other booth will be closed to maintain six foot social distancing requirements. In addition, election workers will be issued masks, gloves, sanitary wipes and hand sanitizer. The Town is following any regulations offered by the Secretary of State’s office in an effort to be as proactive and healthy as possible.
