The Planning and Development department submitted a Community Development Block Grant application in early March to fund the reconstruction of Railroad Street and provide monies to support a supplemental fuel assistance program. The town was awarded the 2020 CDBG Grant in December 2020 in the amount of $715,510.
The work to reconstruct Railroad Street includes new sewer mains and drainage improvements as well as new sidewalks, curbs, street pavement, and modification of traffic patterns (partial one-way). The fuel assistance program will be the third round of fuel assistance provided to those who exhausted other assistance programs.
