🚍 Transportation Support Update: Expanded Toy Town Trolley Hours
Effective immediately, the Toy Town Trolley has expanded its hours to better serve the Winchendon community.
This change is designed to increase access to essential services—particularly for residents experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity—by aligning transit availability with key service provider hours.
🕒 New Service Hours:
Saturdays | 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
This is an extension from the previous Saturday service window, which ended at 2:30 PM. Now, residents have access to reliable transportation throughout the day and into the evening.
📅 Important Scheduling Note:
All Saturday rides must be pre-scheduled by 3:00 PM on Friday.
Same-day bookings cannot be accommodated.
🚪 Door-to-Door Service:
Toy Town Trolley provides door-to-door transportation within Winchendon, connecting residents to:
- Warming centers and shelters
- Medical appointments and pharmacies
- Grocery stores and food resources
- Social services and housing providers
This expansion directly responds to community feedback gathered in the Winchendon Resident Transportation Survey, which identified limited hours as a major barrier for vulnerable populations. By extending Saturday service, the Town helps ensure residents can travel safely to and from critical services—especially during colder months.
