Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program

The Winchendon Housing Authority is part of the Section 8 Centralized Waiting List.  Applications can be downloaded from the MASS NAHRO website.

Applications are also available at the WHA office.

The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program is a Federal Housing Program funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Families, elderly, disabled/handicapped people and single people may be eligible.  In the case that you are issued a voucher and then find an apartment, the amount you and the Winchendon Housing Authority pay to the landlord will be determined and written into the lease and contract.  There are payment standards that are based on the number of bedrooms in the unit in the area that you will be leasing in.  After the lease and contract have been signed and executed, you and the Winchendon Housing Authority will each send a share of the rent directly to the landlord.
