Information Regarding the Demolition of the Dilapidated Buildings at 275 and 283 Lincoln Ave. Extension

Demolition of the former Diehl Property located at 275 Lincoln Ave. Extension has begun.  On Wednesday, October 2nd the EPA anticipates receiving the necessary authorities to begin the demolition on the property next door located at 283 Lincoln Ave. Extension, formerly known as the Alaska Freezer Property.   

The EPA is overseeing and funding the demolition project. The project will include removing all contaminants located on the site (asbestos, etc.), demolishing the buildings and removing all of the debris from the site.  Work will be ongoing over the next several weeks. 

The Town of Winchendon would like to thank the representatives from the EPA who have provided the funding and oversight to have these dilapidated buildings removed.
