Winchendon Community Park

WELCOME TO THE WINCHENDON COMMUNITY PARK

Thank you to everyone who made the amphitheater grand opening a success. It was amazing to see so many people there enjoying this gem right in the heart of Winchendon.

Join Cindy Carvill in our Naure's Notebook adventure.

We are recruiting volunteers to join our Citizen Science Program called Nature’s Notebook and help us collect information on plant and animal species at the Winchendon Community Park. No prior experience or long-term commitment required! We welcome amateur naturalists and botanists as well as seasoned professionals. Learn more about phenology and help us record data for scientific research.

Do you know when you NEED to rent the WCP? Rentals are for exclusive use of an area or the whole park and/or your gathering is more than 25 people. Here are some examples to help you understand when a rental would apply and when it would not.

Example 1: The Garden Club, with 10 members, wants to come to the park, check out their pollinator garden and bring lunch to meet up. They do not want exclusive use of any area of the park. They DO NOT need to rent the park.

Example 2: The Girl Scouts want to reserve the Amphitheater to host their annual bridging ceremony. They DO need to rent the park.

Example 3: The Boy Scouts want to take their troop on a nature hike through the trails in the park. They DO NOT need to rent the park.

Example 4: You want to host your child's Birthday Party @ the park including food and you want to ensure the space will be available when you show up. You DO need to rent the park

Example 5: A group of kids get together to play pick up soccer at the park & they don't mind if anyone else at the park wants to join in. They DO NOT need to rent the park.

Example 6: The Cross Country Team wants to use the trails for practice & meets. It is anticipated that there will be more than 25 people. It would not be safe for the cross country runners to run on the trails with other pedestrians walking on them. They DO need to rent the park.

Example 7: You want to meet up with your friends and their kids to enjoy a day at the park in the outdoors. You DO NOT need a rental.
