Fuel Assistance Program
Winchendon has received a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to provide up to $500 towards one-time fuel assistance delivery per income eligible household, beginning in November 2021.
Winchendon one or two person households whose gross annual incomes are too high to qualify for Fuel Assistance but are still less than 80% of the Area Median Household income (see chart below) may qualify for this grant program. Funding will be distributed on a first-come, first served basis. Please contact New England Farm Workers’ Council at (978) 342-4520 to determine if you should submit an application.

This Supplemental Fuel Assistance Program is available to Winchendon households who have been approved for fuel assistance (LIHEAP or Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) through New England Farm Workers’ Council during the 2021-2022 funding cycle. When Fuel Assistance from Farm Workers is exhausted, up to $500 in supplemental fuel assistance will become available to cover all or some of the cost of the next delivery or invoice.
Funding for the Supplemental Fuel Assistance program is limited, with households awarded based on first-come, first served LIHEAP application approval date. Households not initially funded will be placed on a waiting list and notified if funds become available.
Any Winchendon household that has been approved for a fuel assistance allotment through New England Farm Workers’ Council whose gross household income does not exceed the thresholds below will be considered an applicant for this supplemental assistance.
