Duties & Responsibilities

The Park and Recreation Commission is responsible for creating and executing programming and other recreational activities throughout the Town of Winchendon as well as utilizing and beautifying our parks!

The current events are:

Our next meeting is May 7, 2024 at 6:30pm in the conference Room, 4th Floor in Town Hall. We are looking for some new members if anyone is interested in learning more about what that entails please join us.

Upcoming Events. 

Bingo & Trivia

Parks & Recreation is teaming up with the CAC HUB to offer some fun indoor programming this winter. Join us at 5 Summer drive on the third Thursday of the month for Bingo to support both the CAC and Parks & Recreation. 

Trivia will be hosted on the last Friday of the month so make sure to stop by! It is free to play and food and drinks will be available for purchase. 

Summer Concert Series at G.A.R. Park

Join us for our 2 concerts at G.A.R. Park this summer on July 19th and August 16th at 6:30pm. In July listen to the musical stylings of Cailte Kelley and in August you can listen to the country duo The Remedy. 

G.A.R. Park is located across the street from Old Murdock Senior Center located at 52 Murdock Ave, Winchendon, MA 01475

Free FUN Days

Free FUN Days are replacing our Community Days at the park!! We have 6 awesome days full of fun and music just for you and your family. Dates and themes/activities are as follows

May 11th- Barbie and Ken Day

June 8th- Founder's Day 90's style

July 13th- Giant Game Day

August 17th- Everything Animal Day

September 14th- Around the World Day

October 5th- Haunted Park

Amphitheater Concerts

Concert list and performances are in and we are so excited to share it with you! Kids 10 and under are always free. Any tickets can be purchased on Eventeny and season passes are available.

Food Truck Festival

The 3rd annual food truck festival and Battle of the Bands will return on June 28th at 4pm.

Get ready for 15+ food trucks, beer vendors, craft vendors and more. Hear our 4 bands battle it out for the title and our reigning champs from 2023 fight to defend theirs!!
